Super Fudge

Creamy, chocolaty warmth all wrapped up in a holiday treat, fudge comes but once a year in our house, and it's never made by me. Until now, that is.

Carnation's Famous Fudge Kit has given me the pre-packaged courage to share in my mother's role as family fudge-maker. It comes complete with a can of evaporated milk, semi-sweet chocolate morsels, a bag of marshmallows, a bag of "sugar mix," and a pan/gift tray. The only thing not included is two tablespoons of butter. Illustrated instructions are printed on the back of the box.

I think I can handle it. I've got to get a domestic move on after all. My husband is downstairs baking brownies.

Tune in soon for a review of the fudge making experience, complete with pictures.

Oh, this DOES look good! Hope you enjoy it.

Funny thing: When I first read your headline, "Super Fudge," I mistakenly but excitedly thought I was about to read a post about the fab Judy Blume book of the same name: SUPERFUDGE. It was one of my favorites as a kid. I'll have to wait a few years for that, methinks.

I loved that book too. Ooh, it was the ultimate book for kids about sibling relationships.

It actually did give me the idea for the title, although completely unrelated to the topic.

Hi Shannon,

I saw your comment on Oh, The Joys and thought I'd say hello to a fellow Shannon :)

Yes, I'm a nerd.

I'll have to look for this. Scott and I are on opposite sides of the marshmallow cream debate (I don't like to use it), but my time-consuming candy thermometer soft ball boil method isn't very convenient.

I have a fool-proof recipe for fudge. It doesn't call for marshmallows but is super easy. Hey, if I can do it, anyone can! (just call me the Undomestic Goddess, after all, I gave my kids fine-pointed Sharpies to decorate their pumpkins with!)
